John Van Hooser
General Partner

Mr. Van Hooser received a B.A. in History, magna cum laude from Dartmouth College in 1989, and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School in 1994.  Prior to joining M/C Partners in 2004, Mr. Van Hooser co-founded Telegraph Hill Communications Partners, a private equity firm focused on the media, communications services and information technology industries.  From 1994 to 2003 he originated and managed communications and media related private equity investments for J.P. Morgan Capital.  During this time, he actively participated in the formation of six companies and served as a director or active observer on 10 Boards of Directors including Affinity Internet, Columbia River Cellular, FrontierVison, Lightship Communications, and Utilicom Networks.  Prior to business school, Mr. Van Hooser held positions as a Senior Financial Analyst in studio strategic planning at The Walt Disney Corporation and as an Associate Consultant at Bain & Company.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Fusepoint and Legendary Pictures.
